FAR recovery continues with three-week revival

Adviser numbers have rallied with three consecutive weeks of double-digit gains and a steady inflow of new entrants while some of the top licensees battle for a podium position. Four weeks into the 2026/27 financial year, the Financial Adviser Register (FAR) is recovering from the June beating with a net growth of 15 bringing the total up to 15,065 for the week ending 23 July, according to Padua Wealth Data. While this is still a ways off the 15,170 seen at the end of May – particularly with the slowing pace of growth – but steady progression and an influx of new entrants have supported at least a partial recovery of the losses. With the addition of 25 more new entrants this week, the FAR has seen 74 join the register since the start of July. This, however, is less positive than it seem as the net change of 15 for the week ending 23 July would suggest that 10 experienced advisers also left the FAR this week. Further, the analysis showed that 130 advisers were active in appointment and resignations this week for a strong rebound from the 70 reported in the week ending 16 July after back-to-back weeks of triple-digit activity at the start of the month. Riding the wave of growth, the profession is now sitting at a net growth of 173 for the financial year-to-date (YTD) while the calendar YTD has been bumped back into the positive for a net gain of 10. Meanwhile, there has been another shake up in the licensee world this week with Count Limited leapfrogging WT Financial Group to reclaim its position as the third largest licensee. After being overtaken by Centrepoint Group in December 2025, Count had held strong to the bronze medal up until the start of June when the licensee closed its limited advice services division which dropped it into fourth, delivering a knock to its adviser numbers that allowed WT to overtake. In a reversal of fortunes, Count has since acquired Oracle Advisory, boosting it back up to 542 advisers to beat out WT at 528. Centrepoint is still comfortably in second with 590 advisers while Entireti & Akumin Group runs miles ahead of the pack at 1,088.
